This may be coming a bit late, and I really don't want to turn this into a political campaign, but I feel additional information would be useful. Perhaps the two candidates can make some comments that would be helpful in making our selection. The NomCom which our delegate will be part of will select a number of members for the Board, the GNSO, the ccNSO and of course, the ALAC. I cannot speak for anyone else, but what *I* would value in a NomCom delegate is the following: - someone who is thoughtful, willing to listen to arguments put forward by other NomCom members, but not afraid to state how they feels about possible candidates. - someone who has a reasonable understanding (or capable of getting it very quickly) of the ICANN organization and the type of people needed for the Board, GNSO and of course ALAC. And the needs will likely vary quite a bit over the different groups. - someone who is willing and able to participate in discussions with ALAC (or other At-Large) members about what we feel are important things to consider in making these appointments. Note that our delegate is not "representing" us - the discussions in the NomCom are completely private and he is not there to carry out our wishes, but I think it is important that he goes into this process knowing what is important to us. I concur with everything you said. Pick whoever has been participating more in calls and lists for NARALO. JP At 5:00 AM -0400 8/25/09, Alan Greenberg recently said:

On an absolute level that may be difficult to judge, given that Eduardo's ALS has been a part of NARALO about 18 months longer than Glenn's. I'm hoping that both Glenn and Eduardo can respond fully to Alan's points with responses that will, together with their posted bios, will help people choose. This is difficult given that the deadline for voting is Sunday, but we need to be informed as well as we can. - Evan
Dear All, This is a friendly reminder that the elections for the NomCom representative from NARALO are currently open through this Sunday, August 30th at 23:59 Hawaii Time.
