Re: [NA-Discuss] Chair and Secretariat Elections
Hi It is logical that if anyone volunteers they need to know their obligations for the position before they throw their hat into the ring As to the bylaws, how long does the existing volunteers stand? Glenn On Thu, Aug 6, 2009 at 6:05 PM, Thompson, Darlene <DThompson@gov.nu.ca>wrote:

Yes, I would really like to be able to do that but I don't believe that there is any kind of actual written job description for either. My take on each position is:
Chair: Chairs the meetings, chairs at least one working group, assists with "process-type" work for the region.
Secretariat: In charge of communications and makes sure that the region is well informed as to what is happening, improves communications between NARALO and other regions, assists with "process-type" work, should chair at least one working group or at least be actively involved in at least one.
Staff: Are there formal JD's for this?
Evan: Your take on this?

Hi all,
Well, its also the time of year to do Chair and Secretariat elections. I would propose that we hold these simultaneously to the ALAC election (get it all over with at once).
So, if we all agree to the two week time-frame, we would be accepting nominations/volunteers for these two positions starting at our meeting on Monday and going for two weeks – if that is what everybody wants.
Let me know if this is OK for the group.
