Re: [NA-Discuss] Nomination of Annalisa Roger
??? When the previous person was sent, I seem to remember it being the result of a vote among Alan Greenberg, Robert Guerra and myself. If there's no vote, why would we need to nominate? People could just submit their names to the non com committee, yes? Anyway, I will defer to others' take on ROP. -----Original Message-----

If I don't have this all mixed up again, if you are proposing Annalisa for the ALAC position that Marc held, we can forward her name to the nominating committee but there is no vote. The nominating committee then decides which of all the names sent to them (either by individuals who put in SOIs to them directly or are nominated by a person within the region) is the most appropriate. They then nominate one person to the role. The RALO gets no say whatsover in who is chosen.
Eduardo (or anybody!) please correct me if I am wrong.

Beau:
Marc was in Alac. The nomcom position I held until this year. To wish position you are nominating her? Nomcom or Alac?

Hello, all.
I would like to nominate Annalisa Roger to the NA-RALO nominating committee position to replace the departed Marc Rotenberg.
I realize today is the deadline but, hopefully, just after Annalisa submits the paperwork, we can arrange for a vote between the two nominees.
Thanks
Beau

The region can only recommend who the ALAC should send on its behalf. ALAC can -- and has -- overruled regional advice. This is why the original choice was made between the three North American ALAC reps, In those early days the rest of ALAC had little to do besides defer to the joint decision of those three, Four years later the situation is not significantly different, though with time some of the people are known -- for better or worse -- to the rest of ALAC. - Evan
