I think it is a great idea. What is the theme for ICANN LA? Perhaps we can discuss the possibilities on our next NARALO call. Loris Taylor Sent from my iPad

I think the theme for the LA meeting will be "recovering from London". :-P And by that I don't just mean At-Large recovering from the Summit. Initiatives started at that meeting on ICANN accountability and IANA oversight are evolving more chaotic by the day. A high level accountability working group that was supposed to be convened in London doesn't even have a structure yet, let alone people or meetings. Half of the GNSO is divided -- and way overdue -- in picking its representative to the ICANN Board. And there are rumblings of ICANN starting the wheels on a second round of gTLD applications before we know the public consequences of the current round. But also, most of what we would have in a Showcase in LA has already been done at the Fayre in London. It's fairly certain that ICANN won't fund North American ALSs to go to LA, as the last NARALO General Assembly took place there just two weeks ago. The only funded NARALO people will be the existing five (plus whoever is elected to replace them in the coming term). Given that vastly reduced level of in-person participation, what kind of a showcase would be possible? - Evan On 10 July 2014 16:48, Loris Taylor <loristaylor1@icloud.com> wrote:

Following up to my previous email regarding Evan's proposal to have an ISOC booth at the ICANN events, and since ICANN-51 is in Los Angeles, we could combine the ISOC booth effort along with the NARALO effort -- and in both cases, as the ISOC-SFBay community At-Large Structure, we can help organize things. So who will be there from NARALO -- I plan to. -konstantin On Thu, Jul 10, 2014 at 2:10 PM, Evan Leibovitch <evan@telly.org> wrote:

Hi Evan your sentiments reminds me of the lack of interest that was in Toronto for the ICANN Toronto event from the Naralo membership. After raising the funds we had a stampede of people wanting to speak at the event. Also the San Francisco Showcase lead by Edwardo was a 'great party' according to the reports. I know that Garth and I are very interested in outreach to the Native groups and the disabled community and our showcase can emphasize our outreach. All: Native Public Media is happy to work with you in showcasing NARALO. Let’s talk about some ideas soon. This week Matthew and I are hosting the National Native Media Conference in Santa Clara, CA. Next week will be a great time to catch up. The possibility exists of creating a Naralo event just before or after the LA meeting and using Cross fy15 allocations to support it. Regards Cintra Sooknanan On 10 Jul 2014 17:12, "Evan Leibovitch" <evan@telly.org> wrote:
