Cheryl, I have taken note of the ALAC submission entitled "At-Large Advisory Committee Statement. To the ICANN Board on the Board Governance Committees Recommendations for Improvements to the Generic Names Supporting Organisation" posted on Sunday 4 May 2008 at http://forum.icann.org/lists/gnso-improvements-report-2008/msg00031.html Would you be good enough to inform us when the ALAC formally convened and ratified this document through a voting process? Please let us know the voting tally and which committee members voted in favor and which were opposed. Thank you, Danny ____________________________________________________________________________________ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Mobile. Danny the At-Large Advisory Committee Statement went through Wiki Based modifications after our last ALAC Meeting (to allow for At-Large Comment) and was then extended further to allow for changes to be included that reflected community views expressed after the Joint User Statement went out for comment (including recognition of the various issues raised in list traffic at the end of last month)... Reference here the Side by Side version comparison notice via email that Nick sent to this list on 27/04/08 inserted below... ALAC did not formally convene on this matter. Nor was there a call for it to do so... Indeed there was not a call for a formal Vote by any ALAC Member (other than me) with regards to this statement... We should also note that the 'original Version 6 was posted by the GNSO Improvements WG originally on the 1st of April which means we did have a 35 day comment period ... Still too short in my personal view... This will no doubt be discussed at the next ALAC Meeting next week... CLO <snip from Nick's Email Sun 4/27/2008 1:25 AM> Dear All: I have been requested to provide some language which might act as a 'bridge' which could help to reconcile the views expressed about the Joint Proposal on GNSO Reform which has been the subject of considerable discussion in the NARALO in the last several days. I hope that what I have crafted is at least close to what is required. As always, whether it is used or not is entirely up to all of you. I have taken the liberty of doing the drafting using the wiki version of the ALAC Statement to the Board of ICANN on GNSO Improvements, since it seemed to me that this would make it easy for everyone to see the original text of that document and also the changes that I have introduced, Here are some URLs for you: 1.
