NARALO Voting Open: NARALO Nominees for ALAC Board Liaison 2009/2010
Dear Community: In accordance with the NARALO process for selecting those persons whom the region will forward to the ALAC for inclusion on the ALAC ballot for ALAC Board Liaison 2009/2010, we can confirm that a vote has just been opened. All authorised voters - that being the same list of persons who participated in the balloting for NomCom delegate names for 2009/2010 from NARALO - will receive voting credentials by mail in the next few minutes. If you do not receive the message due to spam filtering or for some other technical reason, you may access the poll at this URL: https://www.bigpulse.com/24535/signin. Note that if you do not have a voting account for this vote, you will be unable to make use of this URL. The vote will close at 19:30 UTC on 14th September. This is one half hour after the start of the regional teleconference at 19:00. Evan and Darlene will receive a list of those who have not voted as at the opening of the conference so that any who have not yet voted can do so at the beginning of the teleconference. At the same time, the Staff will remind those who have not voted on the 13th by email. -- -- Regards, Nick Ashton-Hart, Heidi Ullrich, Matthias Langenegger, Gisella Gruber-White, Marie-Helene Bouchoms ICANN At-Large Staff email: staff@atlarge.icann.org

1) Votes are meant to be private unless you explicitly want to broadcast it. You (and anyone else) is welcome to have your conversations with Beau in this matter in confidence. 2) In this vote we're using the STV method that allows you to rank the three candidates. So you'd need to pick a second choice as well. - Evan
Hi Evan, I don't mind casting a public vote. I do not wish to designate a second choice. All of the candidates are suitable for the position, but I believe that we would be better served by having Alan serve as the next ALAC chair, and by having Wendy serve as the next liaison to the NCSG. my 2 cents (for what it's worth). Danny
Danny, for the record, my current plans do not include running for the position of chair, regardless of the outcome of the Liaison vote. I strongly believe that we should be filling this position as best we can. Our interactions with the Board over the next period will be rather important in ensuring that we actually get a voting Board member soon, and with reasonable rules for the selection of this person. It is the first vote for officer/liaison for a reason! I have no problem with saying that I am my own choice! ;-) Alan At 14/09/2009 01:55 PM, Danny Younger wrote:
