Re: [NA-Discuss] [ALAC-Internal] On ALAC response to BGC WG midpoint etc.: How do you want me to vote?

The "concerns and complaints" referred to above were internal to NARALO until they were cross-posted to the ALAC internal list. Nothing "burst forth" from the NARALO list without the active effort of people outside the region. Note the subject line. An internal discussion -- an ALAC rep requesting guidance from the region on how to vote -- was re-broadcast to the rest of ALAC (and, I would note, separately CCd to the ExComm mailing list in yet another abuse of its function). Why were all these CCs added, if not to provoke inappropriate outside comment and prolong the process? Perhaps this result may serve as an disincentive to similarly pointless cross-posting in the future. - Evan
I'm happy not to cross post BUT as I thought NARALO might also wonder or react if he ALAC made even more late changes to a the document based on Adam's email I thought it was important you knew what amendments had been made and why... As far as the other c.c's go it was not intended to be pointless at all... If the ALAC is to be asked to stop a Poll and do another one as an URGENT matter, especially over a time of year when many people are very busy or taking vacation time, and particularly when voting had begun and it is between ALAC Meetings, the obvious way to engage them and also keep the other RALO's up to date is to use the Internal list; Also the agreement to make the amendments as you and NARALO requested (as well as to instruct staff to re do the Poll etc.), is one I made as Chair *but* I work with a team be it a formal ExCom or not... The ExCom list is how the Chair, Vice Chairs and Rapporteur have communicated between themselves and with Staff since 2007, and is how the ExCom continue to interchange emails and discuss matters of At-Large and the ALAC (along with a bookmarked Skype Chat)... As that is a normally VERY low use list ANY thing that goes there gets priority attention from us all... CLO 2008/12/22 Evan Leibovitch <evan@telly.org>
