I have done some brief research. The RSSAC does not currently have liaisons to or from other ICANN structures other than SSAC. I have seen no record of past liaisons either on the RSSAC site. Current liaisons are to or from other technical bodies or root zone specific bodies.
I don’t know if ALAC ever had a liaison relationship with RSSAC; I assume not, but always happy to learn something new.
I recommend the following two steps:
1. Mohibul you should look into joining the RSSAC Caucus. As you probably know, this is an open organization for those with Root Zone expertise and interest. This will give you good experience and insight.
2. ALAC, the At-Large appointments committee and/or Staff could consider whether there is ALAC/At-Large interest in a liaison relationship; if so, the next step would be contacting the RSSAC Chair to see if there is any RSSAC interest in a liaison relationship.
Since there is no such position at the moment, there is no process or timeline related to such a position.

Mohibul, Sorry I didn’t realize you are already a member of RSSAC! I think it’s a great idea, and I found it quite interesting that RSSAC does not maintain liaisons with any ICANN groups other than SSAC. It’s not that surprising, since it is consistent with RSSAC’s overall somewhat introverted “personality” in the community. I think a closer relationship would be quite beneficial, and we should take advantage of your “dual-hatted” situation. I would suggest considering a bilateral meeting at the next ICANN meeting. I would also suggest that you consider and write up some thoughts on specific and concrete areas of common concern and possible collaboration, since you have a view into both groups that is quite uncommon. I think it’s a great idea, and I found it quite interesting that RSSAC does not maintain liaisons with any ICANN groups other than SSAC. It’s not that surprising, since it is consistent with RSSAC’s overall somewhat introverted “personality” in the community.
I think a closer relationship would be quite beneficial, and we should take advantage of your “dual-hatted” situation. I would suggest considering a bilateral meeting at the next ICANN meeting. I would also suggest that you consider and write up some thoughts on specific and concrete areas of common concern and possible collaboration, since you have a view into both groups that is quite uncommon. You could even suggest some possible action items to undertake as part of this relationship.

I have done some brief research. The RSSAC does not currently have liaisons to or from other ICANN structures other than SSAC. I have seen no record of past liaisons either on the RSSAC site. Current liaisons are to or from other technical bodies or root zone specific bodies.
I don’t know if ALAC ever had a liaison relationship with RSSAC; I assume not, but always happy to learn something new.
I recommend the following two steps:
1. Mohibul you should look into joining the RSSAC Caucus. As you probably know, this is an open organization for those with Root Zone expertise and interest. This will give you good experience and insight.
2. ALAC, the At-Large appointments committee and/or Staff could consider whether there is ALAC/At-Large interest in a liaison relationship; if so, the next step would be contacting the RSSAC Chair to see if there is any RSSAC interest in a liaison relationship.
Since there is no such position at the moment, there is no process or timeline related to such a position.
