Dear Bruna and all,

As discussed during the call, please note that the DNS Abuse draft agenda has been redefined to focus on NCSG level.  Each of the point on the agenda is meant to spark and help to start discussion in aligning our thought with regards to DNS abuse in the ICANN environment
  • NCSG Discussion on DNS Abuse

  • Mapping NCSG thought on DNS Abuse

  • Assessment of DNS Abuse

  • How effective are the mechanism to address DNS abuse

  • What are the issues noncommercial registrants faced with DNS abus

Please feel free to suggest and edit as needed. It would be good if we can hold a call soon to take this forward.

Regards.
Peter.

Thank Bruna for sharing.

To buttress more on Bruna's message, the group is looking to have a call on any week day around 11H00 UTC to discuss our idea on DNS abuse before we jump on call with Keith on July 27th. The group needs to discuss further on the DNS abuse and come up with a concrete position. We have drafted an agenda that might help us to discuss the impact of DNS abuse on the registrants and achieve consensus. It also captures the comments made by Kathy and Farz on the white paper issued by the CPH.

I would appreciate it if you could respond to this mail to know your agreement for the proposed call. While we wait for the call agreement, please let's keep the discussion going on the approach NCSG could take with reference to the DNS abuse.

Some of the points we need to discuss are:
1. CPH and NCSG dialogue on DNS Abuse: Keith invited us for a new meeting, at the tentative date of Tuesday 27 July at 1500 UTC.
2. Rrsg issued a Registrant Protections in DNS Abuse Mitigation Paper  a few weeks ago (attached)
3. Reinforced need for NCSG to discuss and achieve consensus on a DNS Abuse position - including a discussion about categories and mitigation resources.

Looking forward to your reaction.

Regards.
Peter

Hey there all,

Hope everyone is ok!

There has been some developments in the past weeks with regards to the DNS abuse topic and I figured it would be good for us to reactivate the discussions here.

Some of the points we need to discuss are:
1. CPH and NCSG dialogue on DNS Abuse: Keith invited us for a new meeting, at the tentative date of Tuesday 27 July at 1500 UTC.

Given that CPH is suggesting a call on july 27th, can we agree on a date for an internal WG call before that ? Any week day around 11H00 UTC ?

best,
Bruna
