ICANN seeks to identify three individuals to serve as Independent Objectors
Dear All, As you know, The New gTLD Program: 2026 Round includes an objection process, which affords certain parties an opportunity to advance arguments against identified applications for new gTLDs on different grounds<https://newgtldprogram-2026-agb.icann.org/en/8-module-4-community-input-obje...>. Objections may also be filed by Independent Objectors (IOs), may file Community and Limited Public Interest objections and appeals, and participate in mediation where appropriate. They do not act on behalf of any particular person or entity, but solely in the best interests of the public and global Internet users. ICANN seeks to identify three individuals to serve as Independent Objectors, including one that will act as Chair, to file Community and Limited Public Interest objections and appeals and participate in mediation, where appropriate, as part of the Program. An individual may be affiliated with a firm but will be ultimately responsible for the processes described in this EOI. Individuals from the same firm shall not be selected. Official responses must be submitted by 23:59 UTC on 11 May 2026. 🔗 Learn more here<https://www.icann.org/en/announcements/details/icann-extends-deadline-for-ex...> or at this link: https://lnkd.in/gg78Jmxy For more information, refer to the New gTLD Program: 2026 Round Applicant Guidebook<https://newgtldprogram.icann.org/en/application-rounds/round2/agb>, and in particular the following sections: * Section 4.5 Objections and Appeals<https://newgtldprogram-2026-agb.icann.org/en/8-module-4-community-input-obje...>, and Appendix 3 Materials Related to Objections and Appeals<https://newgtldprogram-2026-agb.icann.org/en/14-appendix-3-materials-related...>. -- Kind Regards Bob.
