Engage with, participate in and contribute to the IG multi stakeholder decision making process. The NGO Caucus held some days before was designed to produce win-win policies and practice outcomes. This follow up meeting is designed to develop and implement strategies how to contribute the NGO caucus outcomes to the wider ICANN policy and decision making process. A further aim is also to engage participants with their respective constituencies and stakeholder groups.
For your information:
NPOC, as the Not for Profit Users Concerns Constituency within ICANN’s Non-Commercial Stakeholders Group (NCSG), is a body that represents Not For Profit Users operational concerns within the ICANN Internet Governance ecosystem. Its dual roles involve (a) contributing and participating in policy making, and (b) raising awareness and engagement on the part of its stakeholder constituency. The Global Knowledge Partnership Foundation’s (GKPF) Pathfinder initiative is focused on awareness and capacity building with civil society organizations and other stakeholders beyond not-for-profits and civil society. The Pathfinder initiative deals with all sources of Internet policy and practices that impact directly on the mission, vision and work agendas of various stakeholder constituencies. Collaboration between NPOC and the Pathfinder initiative has taken place, and will occur on occasion when Pathfinder’s role is useful to assist NPOC in constituency awareness and engagement in Internet policy. The GKPF and its Pathfinder initiative pursue their own agenda of events around awareness and capacity building beyond and quite independent of any collaboration with NPOC.
