The situation is worrying and I believe merits a full report, that is a write-up of how things happened, so we can make sure this does not happen again. Just the list of exchanges on the list will not, in my view, be enough. This is a major misstep and however justified does not inspire confidence.
Also I would like clarification on the 'personal reasons' referred to in relation to Benjamin's travel.  If this was due to visa issues I think we should clearly make exceptions for such situations as they are beyond the control of the individual. Also if someone is not eligible to apply for a travel slot they should be told so immediately upon submission of their application.
I wish those selected success in their representation of our interests.

Hence the funded travelers list now has two names - Shahul and Dina. 

As per your corruption and lack of transparency accusations, all EC deliberation was made in our list, feel free to take a look. Despite all that, NCUC EC welcomes your input and if in your opinion there is any point left without explanation, we would love sort that out.

I am against the withdrawal of the first list, it doesnt order well for for NCUC. This kind of corrupt decisions and lack of transparency should be stopped. 

I am disappointed in the EC and everyone who took part in this corrupt decision. Is distasteful and lacks principles.

NCUC EC is reaching out in order to correct an recent travel funding and CROP Slot allocation that was announced on this list.

As the EC was going through the applications for the PIR travel funding to ICANN63, the allocation turned out to be a tough decision given the quality of the applicants. And, as we were finishing the deliberation, there was a confusion about the final voting tallies and the deliberation being allegedly concluded when it was not.  

Also, the announcement implied on one of the NCUC CROP slots allocation. We decided to retract this one based on the fact that there was no open call for this slot (as per our Operating Procedures requirement) and believe it would not be fair to allocate the resource without the knowledge of our members about the possibility. Therefore, instead of what was announced on the lists in the beginning of the week, this announcement concerns the allocation of the two travel slots available as per the PIR Funding and no longer allocates one of NCUC's CROP slots.


Due to the above mentioned mistakes, we retract the previously announced allocation and would like to inform that the PIR Funded travelers, as per NCUC EC deliberation are:

- Shahul Hameed

- Dina Thomas Covenant

We apologize for the confusion and especially to those affected by the precocious announcement of the allocation. Congratulations to the selected travelers!!
