Dear all,

It is my pleasure to accept the nomination by my fellow colleagues Dina, Martin and Gangadhar, and I am deeply thankful to them for all their trust. They have been amongst those who have supported me since I first joined ICANN in October 2017, as a fellow, and I hope I will finally be given the opportunity to bring my contribution to the community. 

It has been my main wish and desire since I joined NPOC last year to become part of the awesome team working on making NPOC a strong, impactful name in the ICANN and IG community, a true voice for not-for-profits everywhere in the world, and I've always thought there was no better way to this than as NPOC Communications chair. 

I am thankful to Caleb as the current Communications chair, he has done a great job, on making the first steps towards that -  I am glad we worked together on the Communications strategy and want to congratulate him for the putting up the website during his term. However, I think the role of Comm chair would allow me to explore and implement my many ideas, to exploit the different type of experience and the varied background I have in order to help NPOC to take its branding to the next level. And, at the end of the day, that is what Communications is about, right? Engagement with its members, with the community, branding and PR. And as someone with 10+ years of PR, business development and marketing, I am more than confident I have the creativity, thoroughness and work ethic needed to fulfil this role to the highest standards, if you would entrust me it it. 

For those of you who do not know me, I have joined ICANN in October 2017 with the Abu Dhabi meeting and have ever since tried to get involved as much as I could (though, I must admit, it is not that easy finding your way through the ICANN labyrinth). 

I have worked on comments on behalf of NCSG, on several issues, from data protection (as a privacy expert), Red Cross requests, to Operating Standards for Review teams and Fellowship reform. I have been a Fellow and a Coach, and have always tried to do every task I got involved in the best way I could. NPOC has been the group most welcoming to me, and I hoped to get involved since I joined it, right after the elections last year. 

Outside ICANN, I am GigaNet Secretary, a SEEDIG Ambassador, I have contributed as an organizer to regional IGF, I am a regular speaker at IG conferences and my PhD work is on data regulation around the globe. I am involved in NGO work in my community, trying to get Central-Eastern Europe more involved in IG, and also a strong supporter of women in tech.

        *   Position applied for: NPOC Communications Chair. 

In fulfilling this role, I wish to collaborate closely with the other members of the ExCom to fulfil NPOC's mission and hope to be given the opportunity to learn from each and all of them. 

        *   Why you are running for the position? Three reasons:

1. Skills and experience: I have been working in business development and marketing for 10+ years, in both business and NGO work. I have done social media campaigns, website development and management, PR campaigns, corporate branding and communication, and so on. I am experienced in using design tools like Adobe suite, newsletter tools (Mailchimp), social media management tools (Hootsuite), website development platform (Joomla and Wordpress). It has always been my passion, which I have been doing continuously for pleasure alongside my legal studies since highschool.
2. Ideas: I have so many ideas on what we could do with NPOC, revolving around: a. Increased social media presence, primarily via Twitter, but not only. b. Regular reporting to and consulting with community members, via website, social media, lists. c. Unitary marketing materials, representing our goals and mission. d. A coherent recruitment strategy, built alongside the Membership Chair, to make NPOC attractive to new members, keep members involved, and most importantly. e. Most importantly, a better understand of what NPOC is and does, and how we can better serve our members (both within and outside NPOC).
3. NPOC: I understand well NPOC and its specific mission, and most importantly, I deeply believe in it becoming a stronger voice, representing its members. Due to my diverse background (having done policy/branding/marketing/NGO work), I think I am strategically placed to create a Strategy that would enhance that in the year to come. I am willing to put in all the work needed and work closely with the EC.

Not less than dedicated 5 hours per week.

        *   Are you involved in any working Groups or PDP efforts, if

so please state: I am a NCSG, NPOC, NCUC and Euralo member. I have just joined Registration Data Policy Implementation Team, I am a member of the CCWG on Human Rights and member of the European Individuals Working Group. I was also involved in RPM.
