Dear NPOC Members
As you will know, an election is underway for the NCSG Chair, and for NCSG’s three GNSO councillors. The election ends September 4th. If you are an active NPOC member you should have received an individual ballot link by email from tally@icann.org . If you have not received a ballot please check your “spam” folder. If it is not there send a ballot request to: NCSG Chair ncsg@TAPANI.TARVAINEN.INFO .
If you also receive the NCSG-discuss list you will know that there was some confusion around the NOTA (None-of-the-Above) voting option. Your NPOC Executive Committee participated in the resolution of the NOTA voting option issue (see below). If you have already voted you may return to your ballot and make changes, if you wish.
The NPOC ExCom consensus position on the election is that it supports voting for all four candidates. All are willing and capable and this will prevent the need for a second election at this time. If you vote for all four candidates DO NOT also vote for NOTA or your entire ballot will be invalidated.
If you wish to exercise the NOTA option your ballot will only count if you have not voted for at least one of the four candidates. Also your NOTA vote will be used to assess the candidacy of all candidates. If any candidate, including those you support, gets less than the NOTA vote that candidate is defeated.
