Procedures for the elections

• Notice of Election and Request for Nominations on the NPOC website for at least sixty (60) days prior to an upcoming election. Such notice shall include the opening date of the official vote.

• Candidates must request formal nomination from the Membership Committee by submitting a completed Request for Nomination form within fifteen (15) calendar days of the official Notice of Election post.

• The Membership Committee shall review the completed Request for Nomination forms and notify candidates of formal acceptance no less than thirty (30) calendar days of the official vote.

• No position shall have more than four (4) candidates. In the event more than four (4) individuals request nomination the EC shall review and vote on the final four (4) candidates.

• Once the candidates have been formally accepted, the voting process detailed in Section 9.0 will commence.

You can self nominate or find a nominator starting on April 26th, 2016. A membership call will be schedule for April 26th to discuss the formal election process with the Excom and each other. Please note that position terms are not limited.

Dear all, 

Time for elections is around the corner so fulfilling our charter requirements and in Pursuant to Section 8.2.1 of the NPOC Charter, NPOC is posting this Notice of Election. NPOC will be conducting elections for the following positions on or after April 24, 2017:

• NPOC Chair . Currently held by: Klaus Stoll

• NPOC Vice Chair : Raoul Plommer (interim)

• Secretariat : Olivie Kouami

• Membership Committee Chair : Joan Kerr

• Policy Committee Chair : Poncelet  Ileleji

• Communications Committee Chair: Juan Manuel Rojas 

Please refer to Section 3.3 of the charter for a description of each Executive Committee Officer position. A copy of the charter is accessible here.

Voting will occur via email ballot from 30 May till 29 June since provision 8.2.1 of our Charter requires us to post the notice for elections and nominations for a minimum of 60 calendar days prior to the start of any election and as per provision 9.5.3, the vote shall be open for 30 calendar days.

ICANN will manage the electronic voting system.

2/ Voting members: 

As per the Charter, the membership committee is in charge of updating the list of active members since only active members are eligible for voting. Therefore, Joan Kerr, our Membership Chair, we will soon initiate the process to register who are our active members.
