Dear NPOC members, I hope you and your loved ones are all doing well and keeping safe. Kindly find the notes from the NPOC EC's latest meeting: https://npoc.org/npoc-ec-meeting-notes-tuesday-may-26-2020/ Kind regards, Ore -- Oreoluwa Lesi Executive Director, Women's Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC) +234.803.621.1307, +234.813.339.9999 | www.wtec.org.ng <https://wtec.org.ng/> | @wteconline <https://www.instagram.com/wteconline/>
A great meeting, indeed and nice action items that will need to be followed carefully. Thanks Ore! The issue with NomCom seat and the action point taken is a good strategy, having it under NCSG umbrella so both constituencies can be considered when filling it. Ore, can you please share the public comment you helped draft on this list so members can look at it? One way to encourage comments from NPOC members is to have the comment posted here as well for an internal discussion before it is commented on the NCSG list. Thanks so much for your comments, Arsene. The details on the ICANN Africa Regional Plan for Fiscal Years 2021-2025 are here: https://www.icann.org/public-comments/africa-regional-plan-fy21-25-2020-04-1... The drafted comment is here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Veu5nbfFceqv3_bDwKCpc0fuC5fV2kDYXAZZQkJd... The deadline for submission is today and Rafik might have submitted it already - I am not sure. We did share it on the NCSG list for feedback, but your suggestion to share any drafted comments on the NPOC list is a good one. There is a lot of activity on the NCSG list and it is easy to miss emails like this when posted there. It's a good strategy to adopt moving forward. Thanks Ore for sharing. With regards to PIR, @Caleb. @Joan The idea to seek permanent seat is also good as long as there is transparency on how we go about it. But let's not forget that its NCSG that is recognized on that front. So there may be need to liaise with NCUC and have a joint stand. @Raoul, as an option, you had raised the issue of utilizing the GAC Rep at GNSO its worth exploring. Also @Caleb: Thanks for the call. I did not hear from Raoul but will make some updates available, for further discussion on NomComRIWG as requested. Pls check your email.
