"We want to share with the community what we have done thus far and what we're planning for the future," said Sarah Deutsch, an ICANN Board member and Chair of the Working Group. "And we want the community to understand how committed we are to fostering a culture of trust and mutual respect in ICANN's multistakeholder community." The Working Group wants to increase the community's awareness of ICANN's *Community Anti-Harassment Policy [r20.rs6.net] <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__r20.rs6.net_tn.jsp-3Ff-3D001h-2DrdryGoHWJkKDDpxP4d-2Df1QXEfBe4zRw3NzCnyx56PJXVMC9k-2DQws1Ue7DF3TIO7-2D1XWSbPDLVxFv0mqPxmaKmH1zvRV19SbdDqvZCBloEm38Uos2EHRTLClVUu5HFasOdEbdMXGfY0hdJz50zqufR5E6Y1rW-2DMieXYYmAh3GZivw2OYF-5F0XtxCjwOwN7Pcqvt0kqY-2D4KMl8UeVUEarGsCLLNEW25d9vjUPEQkPVBhR8etQW8WC3MhtumNk8qgw-26c-3D-5FV2iYrR60LAV6Yo6HZN6cufErweLveZYMA6cJY3m7qBIHqVe1t86WQ-3D-3D-26ch-3Do9-5FukB-2DDMEz7sbJYhyUuaeUg31gpJH0W-5F6qsSJX51Y2Ssb8nu1A-2DLA-3D-3D&d=DwMFaQ&c=FmY1u3PJp6wrcrwll3mSVzgfkbPSS6sJms7xcl4I5cM&r=KSVEP6fQF1GAxTidFq9gqmzD_MP8uibPCWGNJZLNf_fCsiFdV6wjdaUW3k8yJdcd&m=M7Lge1c6mPUVWeN1ckt8e3ImycomRyXFM-uS41v4ap0&s=DbFn1LYunt0JG1ppmgjBv2dOQ8lR-vQn0mD5ANH6bwc&e=>* and the processes that follow after a harassment complaint has been received. Deutsch said today's session is a follow-on to a session at ICANN64 in Kobe, Japan, during which a cross-section of interested community members gave the Working Group suggestions and ideas to consider in its awareness campaign and research. "We want the community to know we have heard them and have immediately implemented certain changes that will be visible in Marrakech to increase awareness of ICANN's anti-harassment policy," said Deutsch. "But there is more work to be done, including around adopting best practices to implement our policy." To afford a common understanding of what constitutes best practices in anti-harassment policy implementation, ICANN org has carried out some preliminary research that focuses on education, awareness, and outreach. The Working Group is inviting community feedback on that research, which will be discussed during today's session. Community members may provide feedback by writing to *anti-harassment@icann.org <anti-harassment@icann.org>* by 20 July 2019. He has remained active in Internet governance, participating in Internet and DNS-related events across the Middle East like the Middle East DNS Forum and the regional School of Internet Governance. At ICANN, Garali is currently the Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC) Representative from Tunisia, an observer in the Work Track 5 (WT5) Working Group on Geographic Names at the Top Level, and a member of ICANN's Middle East and Adjoining Countries Strategy Working Group (MEAC-SWG). Garali is the Director of Fixed Network Access with the Tunisian Regulator (INT), with over ten years of experience in the information and communication technologies. He urges all to join the ICANN community, take part in the Internet governance issues, and participate in generic top-level domain (gTLD) policy development processes. Sulaimon Moriam Nigeria Sulaimon Moriam is a third-year student of Information and Communication Science at the University of Ilorin in Nigeria. Moriam is a member of the GDG Ilorin and Women Techmakers, and is an advocate for greater participation of women in the information technology industry. Moriam first learned about ICANN at an outreach program held at the University of Ilorin. ICANN65 will be the first ICANN Public Meeting she has attended in person. She looks forward to meeting other members of the community, especially those based in Africa, who are working towards making the Internet more secure and stable. She believes her experience will inspire other women from Africa to contribute to the Internet community. Kristina Hakobyan Armenia Kristina Hakobyan has been involved in the domain name registration business since 2010. Hakobyan's first interaction with ICANN was at ICANN61 when she attended the Public Meeting as a Fellow. There, she gained more insight into the domain name industry on a global scale and become more involved in ICANN activities. Hakobyan is now a member of the ccNSO PDP Retirement Working Group and NomCom Review Implementation Working Group. Hakobyan's involvement in the ICANN Fellowship Program also afforded her opportunities to become involved with a number of Internet governance events including RIPE NCC, Coordination Center for TLDs.RU/.РФ, ISOC Armenia, NASIG, SEEDIG, and EuroDIG. In 2019, Hakobyan was appointed as a SEEDIG Ambassador for Armenia and was elected to the ISOC AM (.am and .հայ ccTLD manager) Board. She is also a co-founder of the Internet Society Armenia Chapter. Call to action: If you're a newcomer, get involved! Do your research, find the ICANN community veterans and learn how they work, and choose at least one area of focus where you can contribute and make your voice heard.
