Hello Everyone, I would like to nominate Oreoluwa Somolu Lesi for the position of Secretariat in the upcoming NPOC election. Oreowula is a doer and will make an excellent addition as Secretariat for NPOC, adding to a good team as well as contributing to the next stage. Thanks -- Joan Kerr, Entrepreneur, Artist, Humanitarian T: +1 (416) 907-0783 Skype: joankerr_fbsc fbsc.org, www.fbsc.eco Chair: Victory Garden Leadership Implementation Team Chair, Sustainable Agriculture, Global Humanitarian Technology Conference Chair: IEEE Smart Villages Project, Sustainable Agriculture Working Group Chair: ICANN Not for Profit Operational Concerns Constituency Lead Organizer, SDG Training Events Advisor, IEEE Humanitarian Initiatives Committee Advisor, Climate Smart Agriculture Youth Network, (CSAYN) Global Coordination Unit
I second this nomination, I worked with Ore in the Onboarding program and even when I was flooded with work she managed to fulfill with merits the program expectations. Everyone commented on her good work as well. Cheers, Martín Silva

Good day everyone, Kindly find below my candidate statement for the position of Secretariat in the upcoming elections. Regards, Ore ************************ •Name: Oreoluwa Lesi •Affiliation: Women's Technology Empowerment Centre - W.TEC •Position applied for: Secretariat *•Why you are running for the position?:* The work that ICANN does is deeply important. However there are many in the nonprofit and civil society communities who do not fully understand what ICANN does and its relevance to their work. This means that they do not have the opportunity to get involved in shaping the policies, which affects them. As someone whose work is focused on getting more girls and women aware of the potential of technology for career, entrepreneurship and leadership opportunities, I interact with a lot of digitally under-represented groups and am constantly exploring strategies to bridge this divide. A proactive and responsive ExCom provides leadership for NPOC members to contribute to DNS policy, both by creating awareness of ways to do this and by mapping paths to recruit new members. I would like to help build on the excellent work of the current ExCom so far, by helping to coordinate the administrative responsibilities and make sure that necessary information about NPOC, meetings, finances are available in a timely manner and in a variety of media. In my professional and other capacities, I have both led and worked as part of teams and have developed the organisational, time management and collaborative skills that will be valuable working in the Secretariat role. In my brief time as an active member of NPOC, I have participated in several initiatives, like the Community Onboarding and charter review. You can learn more about me and my work here: https://bit.ly/2ke8u78 and https://wtec.org.ng. *•Do you have any conflict(s) of interest?:* No *•How many hours per week you are able to dedicate to the position:* 5.5 hours *•Are you involved in any working Groups or PDP efforts, if so please state:* I was a mentee on the Community Onboarding programme and helped to refine the processes to integrate new members to NPOC. Being a newer member, contributing to this process was very important to me. I also contributed to the revision of the NPOC charter. At the 2018 Intersessional, I worked with the rest of the working group to review the new version of the charter for flow and ease of use. More recently, as part of the NCSG Policy course Advisory Group, I contributed scenarios for the development of a NCSG Policy course. -- Oreoluwa Lesi - Women's Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC) Executive Director +234.803.621.1307, +234.813.339.9999 | www.wtec.org.ng | @wteconline On 10/05/2018 4:07 PM, Oreoluwa Somolu Lesi wrote:

•Name: Oreoluwa Lesi
•Affiliation: Women's Technology Empowerment Centre - W.TEC
•Position applied for: Secretariat
*•Why you are running for the position?:* The work that ICANN does is deeply important.
*•Do you have any conflict(s) of interest?:* No
*•How many hours per week you are able to dedicate to the position:* 5.5 hours
*•Are you involved in any working Groups or PDP efforts, if so please state:*
I was a mentee on the Community Onboarding programme and helped to refine the processes to integrate new members to NPOC.

Hi all, I would like to nominate Caleb Olumuyiwa for communication chair and David Cake for Policy Chair positions. I think both will bring a lot of much needed expertise in policy, David is a proven leader in the NCSG for years now with positions in the GNSO Council, Working groups and others. Caleb experience and education in communication and Policy are exactly what we need in NPOC to foster our work in Policy issues now that a lot of the ground work has been done. I hope Caleb and David accept. Thank you in any case. Cheers, Martín Silva GNSO Councilor On Thu, May 10, 2018, 9:00 AM caleb olumuyiwa <muyiwacaleb@gmail.com> wrote:

Dear NPOC members, I would like to nominate Poncelet for Chair of NPOC. I have closely worked with him when I first joined as a member of the NPOC community and continued working with him when I was elected Chair of NPOC. Over the last years, Poncelet has acted in many capacities in the Executive Committee serving as NPOC Secretary, in charge of Membership and of Policy. He has also represented NPOC in the NCSG EXCOM twice. As part of the NPOC delegation, Poncelet attended the ICANN inter-sessional meeting in Los Angeles, was a member of the first ICANN Meeting Strategic working group that restructured ICANN meetings, and has also been active with the first ICANN African strategic working group. Poncelet serves on/has served on the following working groups: · NCSG PC · GNSO RPM WG · GNSO-new gtld-WG · GNSO -igo-ingo-crp · GNSO SSC Finally, he is a resource person for the West African Internet Governance Forum (www.waigf.org) and an adviser to the Gambian Government in ICANN GAC. His long-term experience within ICANN and the Internet Governance sphere, allowed him to build a solid knowledge of key processes and topics at stake, added to the fact that he is from a region that is under-represented within ICANN. For all of those reasons, I would like to propose the name of Poncelet for candidate to Chair of NPOC. I sincerely hope he accepts.
