Per the request on today’s Plenary Call, attached is an updated “Inventory of New and Changes Made to WHOIS Policies and Procedures Since the First WHOIS Review Team Completed Its Work in 2012” chart.

 

 

For your convenience the current statuses added to the document are:

 

Inter-Registrar Transfer Policy – ICANN org is working with the GNSO on kicking off a review of this policy. Review is likely to take place in the latter part of 2018.

 

Additional WHOIS Information Policy (AWIP) – No review of this policy is currently anticipated.

 

New gTLD Uniform Rapid Suspension System (URS), URS Procedure and Rules – The GNSO PDP Working Group is currently reviewing of all rights protection mechanisms in all gTLDs, including URS.

 

Expired Registration Recovery Policy (ERRP) - ICANN org has started collecting initial data to conduct a review from a contractual compliance perspective as well as other sources. Once complete, a report will be delivered to the GNSO Council for their review.

 

Transition of .COM, .NET, and JOBS to Thick WHOIS Policy – This policy is currently in the implementation phase.

 

Consistent Labeling and Display Policy – This policy went into effect 1 August 2017. No review of this policy is currently anticipated.

 

Privacy & Proxy Services Accreditation Policy – This policy is currently in the implementation phase.

 

Translation/Transliteration of Contact Information Policy – This policy is currently in the implementation phase.

 

Procedures for Handling RDS/WHOIS Conflicts with Privacy Law – A review of these procedures was kicked off in May 2017. The GNSO is considering forming an Implementation Advisory Group to review the procedures in light of comments and inputs received from the community.

 

RDS/WHOIS Data Retention Specification Waiver and Discussion Document – No review of this specification is currently anticipated.
