Of these messages, most seem to be time-outs (ICANN got no response), three are rate-limitations (legitimate method of stopping bulk queries) and two are "not found" messages (where the whois server responded but did not return a result for the domain names).
Without more information (domain name, registrar, registry) it will be difficult to find the root causes of these issues, but at least with the time-outs, ICANN should investigate what caused these. Have you tried the same queries at a later time and gotten valid results or did these queries provide the same failure notices over the course of a longer period of time?

Hello All,
Attached are 12 screenshots of WHOIS lookups I did on the ICANN.org site. There is a small variety of timed out responses. Please note I have redacted the actual domain name I was looking up due to client confidentiality.
I have also heard that registrar's not allowing access to the WHOIS records through ICANN's access is a problem.
I will request that the compliance team provide insight on how many complaints they have received concerning timeouts on the look up tool or inability to use the tool.
