Sorry, but I strongly disagree. The reference to GDPR is to control the timing of the implementation. We are addressing GDPR now. We have no idea when other applicable legislation may be addressed. If we make that replacement, we can almost guarantee that the recommendation as stated will never be implemented because it may be a long time before we understand how the more general case will be addressed.

Because this is more substantive than a copy edit, Alan asked that the RT be advised of this change. Any objection to this change should be raised to the RT list ASAP but no later than 29 August 23.59 UTC.
