Tim, Between Bob's note of the 25th and today I didn't actually notice a date when nominations would close. I could have overlooked it, and some mail to the list appears to be duplicated and time-delayed (your note of the 4th, apparently resent on the 7th). In any event, since no one seconded the nomination by Werner Staub and Marcus Faure, I suppose I don't need to accept the nomination now that the vote has been called. For what it is worth, had the nomination a second, I would have accepted and worked up the conflicts statement and so on. My point is only this, process counts. Eric
Eric, the process has not been to formal right now. I would ask the board to set a closing time for the nominations. Then we can see exactly who is running and who is not and all parties will have the chance to give their positions. Marcus

Eric, I'm not trying to cut anything short, just keeping it moving along. The sooner we have a new Chair, the sooner I'm no longer filling that role in the interim :) I am also happy to second the nomination of Eric Brunner-Williams for Chair. Hi Tim, I do believe we should wait for a few more days, judging from the fact that a wire transfer does take a few days to organise and the membership procedure has been out only for 2 working days - tuesday and wednesday Best Regards Bhavin Turakhia Founder, CEO and Chairman DirectI -------------------------------------- http://www.directi.com <http://www.directi.com/> Direct Line: +91 (22) 5679 7600 Direct Fax: +91 (22) 5679 7510 Board Line (USA): +1 (415) 240 4172 Board Line (India): +91 (22) 5679 7500 -------------------------------------- _____ From: owner-registrars@gnso.icann.org [mailto:owner-registrars@gnso.icann.org] On Behalf Of Tim Ruiz Sent: Thursday, September 09, 2004 4:33 PM To: Robert F. Connelly" <rconnell@psi-japan.com> Date: Wed, August 25, 2004 4:23 pm To: "Registrars Constituency" <registrars@dnso.org> Dear Registrars: I bring sad news, Elana has accepted a position which will take her away from us. I can only describe her tenure as Stupendous. I have enjoyed working for her. She has been objective and fair, has run well organized meetings. Sadly, I am calling for nominations for Chair of the RC. Regards, BobC, Secretary.
