Dear Registrars: A problem has popped up with Vista. I received an Excel file ending .xlsx. I could not open it. I have asked the sender to save again in an older version of MS Office or in Openoffice. Generally speaking, when submitting spreadsheets on our mailing list, it is best to save them in .csv format. The broadest range of operating systems and spreadsheet systems appear to be able to use this format. The same should be said for text files. Many cannot open .doc files. It is better to send in .rtf format. Regards, BobC
