Dear RSSAC Caucus members,

IETF 104 will take place in Prague from 23-29 March 2019. RSSAC will provide travel support up to 4 RSSAC Caucus Members to attend IETF 104 including economy class airfare, accommodation, registration and per diem expenses.

As of the end of the funding request period we have received 14 requests, 10 more than the allotted slots.  Thus, we will go through a random selection process.

Here is a list of the RSSAC Caucus members requesting funding (ordered by the time of the request):

  1. Robert Story
  2. Ramanou BIAOU
  3. George Russell Mundy
  4. Daniel Migault
  5. Ihtisham Khalid
  6. Anand Raje
  7. Harish Chowdhary
  8. Shailesh Gupta
  9. Dr AbdulkarIm Oloyede
  10. Alejandro Acosta
  11. Amir Qayyum
  12. MOHIT BATRA
  13. Rao Naveed Bin Rais
  14. Anupam Agrawal

The process works as follows, unless any of the requestors withdraw his or her interest in participating, or if there are any requests we have missed, a Publicly Verifiable Random Selection Process will be conducted by Staff on Monday, 7 January 2019, using the RFC 3797 method with the following parameters:

Number of slots: 4

Three sources of randomness:

#1 US Mega millions, Friday  4 January 2019 drawing.

(https://lottery.com/results/us/megamillions/ [lottery.com])

    #2 Euromillions, Friday  4 January 2019 drawing.

(https://www.national-lottery.co.uk/results/euromillions/checker [national-lottery.co.uk])

#3 NASDAQ closing index (rounded to the nearest integer) on Friday 4 January 2019

The results (as well as other data) will be announced to the list on the same day, after which you can verify the result yourself. The RSSAC caucus members who are not selected for travel support will be automatically placed on the waitlist.

The RSSAC Administrative Committee has also been reviewing the selection criteria for IETF travel funding. If there are new guidelines, they will be announced prior to the next IETF meeting.

Best regards,

Steve Sheng
