[rssac-caucus] Caucus meeting in Yokohama? Agenda items?
Hi there! We're evaluating whether to conduct a caucus meeting on the Sunday preceding the IETF in Yokohama. We would much like to see active participation from the caucus during such a meeting, and in line with that we hereby ask for what you think we should discuss if the meeting is held. As we all go to too many meetings, having the meeting just for meeting's sake doesn't sound like a lot of fun, but if there are sensible things to discuss, we'll make sure it happens. The tentative time slot we're looking at is Sunday November 1 @1430 local time in Yokohama. Please allow for slight variation in the time of day, depending on room availability. So, bring it on! We know that there are ideas flourishing out there. ;-) Best regards, /Tripti Sinha and Lars-Johan Liman RSSAC co-chairs

My note about root ops identifying anycast instances garnered some interest. It might be useful to discuss documenting which root ops use what methods for such identification. --Paul Hoffman

I would be very happy to present a status update on behalf of the root server names work party. This would be an informational update; if the exec decides it would be better not to meet, that will not impact our ability to get the work done by the deadline (i.e. don't plan a meeting just on our account). I’d like to see a discussion on RSSAC002 and issues that have been found with it in the course of the various RSOs trying to implement it and how we get the RSSAC002 document revised.

So, is this meeting on for sure? Some of us are already having to juggle our times for the Sunday of the IETF meeting. --Paul Hoffman

Indeed - Sunday is becoming one of the most conflicted days at an IETF. I have IEPG, some other meeting that conflicts, and then there are tutorials. W -- I don't think the execution is relevant when it was obviously a bad idea in the first place. This is like putting rabid weasels in your pants, and later expressing regret at having chosen those particular rabid weasels and that pair of pants. ---maf

i can also meet saturday (ietf minus 2), since i'll be there for a yeti-dns meeting. for that matter, this time i could meet friday (ietf minus 3). ph and wk, note that the rootops, and rssac, have always met sunday (ietf minus 1) -- that's why we've been so scarce in iepg and the tutorials over the years. JFYI. -- Paul
I’m also free for one or two hours in Friday and Saturday morning. And the week during IETF meeting. Btw: In Saturday afternoon, there is Yeti DNS workshop hosted by BII. If anyone in this ML interested and available at that time, welcome to join us. Davey
