NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED
Good
Morning All from Foggy London,
I've lost
the plot a little, about who is staying, and for how long in January - but I do
have a contract on my desk which secures a number of rooms for our original
dates and names at a very good rate (£219 per night bed and breakfast, exclusive
of VAT). The numbers I have are:
18th
January - 14 rooms booked - 13 names so far -
Emily/Kathy/Kim/Omar/Sarmad/Susan/Lynn/Michael/James/Bill/Liz/Denise/Sharon
19th January - 19- rooms booked - 18 names so far -Emily/Kathy/Kim/Lutz/Olivier/Omar/Sarmad/Susan/Wilfried/Lynn/Michael/James/Bill/Liz/Denise/Olof/Alice/Sharon
Now that we
are likely to have two whole days, it may be that we need some rooms on the
night of 20th too?.
We have
just phoned to see if we can secure additional rooms, and been advised that
there are no more available. I believe they mean that there are no more
available at this rate, as I tried to book online and there is
availability.
I have
until Wednesday to sign the contract, at which stage I will have to pay 10% of
the costs on my corporate credit card (about £780) - and now we are so close to
the event, the full amount if any cancellations or changes at
all.
The online
price for room only is about £300 per night - so to book by any other method
will be much more expensive - but whatever happens now, it is going to be a mish
mash of bookings and costs - unless I do not sign the contract and hand the
entire booking over to ICANN.
The other
thing we could do is try another hotel in central London and travel to Docklands
each day, or try to find a central London Venue at a hotel - that may work
out more cost effective.
Would
appreciate some direction in this.
Sharon
