Edmon: dennis/sarmad do you have the link handy?
Dennis Tan: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VCpLpl9nkHq7D7Pf0gyJm7zSllVC9pLvsu_7YdJ473Y/edit?usp=sharing
Edmon: thx
------------- (06/11/2018 22:16) -------------
Edmon: not sure if i understood sarmad correctly, but i think it might be useful to distinguish between "variants" such as netherlands vs. holland, and IDN variants that is defined by the LGR, in this case the RZ-LGR...
------------- (06/11/2018 22:17) -------------
Sarmad Hussain: "variants" are by definition those from RZ-LGR. Others should be considered unique TLD labels?

Mirjana Tasic .rs: I hear you
------------- (06/11/2018 22:30) -------------
Edmon: so 2 specific suggestions: 1. beofre a generation panel is reconvened, the issue raised should be compared with what was already discussed in the generation-integration panel decisions/discussions from before, it should only be reconvened if new information is brought in
------------- (06/11/2018 22:31) -------------
Edmon: 2. do we talk about appeal against integration panel itself and how it comes out with its consensus position
Sarmad Hussain: +1 Edmon
Sarmad Hussain: (on Edmon's first comment) :-)
Edmon: @sarmad understood, 2 was more of a question
Sarmad Hussain: IP position is generally explained
Sarmad Hussain: GP should be able to ask IP rationale for a decision
------------- (06/11/2018 22:45) -------------
Edmon: sorry, let me type then
------------- (06/11/2018 22:47) -------------
Edmon: suggestion is that whoever comes in with an appeal should present a technically coherent LGR (or part of LGR pertaining the lang/script) as a basic threshold
Dennis Tan: sounds like a reasonable ask
Edmon: yes agree with sarmad, we shoul dhave examples
Sarmad Hussain: Developing an LGR may be too technical for somebody who is appealing
Sarmad Hussain: especially from the community
Sarmad Hussain: Though the entity appealing must make their case
------------- (06/11/2018 22:52) -------------
Edmon: hmm sarmad, also we might want to distinguish between an update of the LGR initiated by a renewed generation panel vs. an "appeal"
Sarmad Hussain: good point. GP can start at any time
Edmon: i guess i read appeal as a different thing, and for that we should set some tech bar, because a renewed GP can be convened for consideration of a number of codepoints without a particualr recommended change to the LGR already in place
Edmon: but an appeals should be otherwise
Sarmad Hussain: yes, agree
Wei WANG: I agree

alireza: thanks
Mirjana Tasic .rs: Bye
Wei WANG: thanks
