Sarmad,
Thank you. I have read the information about the two potential volunteers and they seem to understand the subject matter. I believe our group could gain from their insights. That said,
I don’t want to take the decision of making them observers or full members lightly. Are there any implications of them not being part of any SOs but allowed to contribute to the final work? in other words, does this wg have the flexibility to accept/reject
volunteers at its discretion?
Thanks,
Dennis

Based on our discussion today, please find below the candidates who have requested to join the RZ-LGR-SG. Kindly advise if you are Ok for them to
join and, in that case, whether they be invited as observers or members.
1.
Ajay Data; He has not shared details, however, these can be found at
https://icannwiki.org/Ajay_Data.
He is co-chairing the Neo-Brahmi Generation Panel, which is developing the Root Zone LGR proposal for nine scripts from South Asia.
2.
Dessalegn Mequanint Yehuala; SOI attached. Dessalegn chaired the Ethiopic Generation Panel, which has finalized its work.
Please let me know if you need any additional information to help you make the decision.
I will circulate a doodle poll for scheduling the meeting next week as soon as you decide on how to proceed with these candidates.
Regards,
Sarmad

Dear All,
We are finalizing UTC 1400 on Thursdays as the meeting time. We will have our first meeting on April 2018. I will share the meeting invitation and
information on how to connect shortly.
We are also anticipating getting possible nominations from IAB for this study group later this week. We are not sure if the new nominees will be able
to join this week.
Here are possible topics we would like the Study Group to consider in their initial meeting:
1.
How to organize the study group (chair? Co-chair?)
2.
Consider additional community members interested but not nominated by SOs/ACs? If yes, as observers or members?
3.
Have an initial discussion on the scope and plan of work?
4.
AOB
We look forward to talking to you soon.
Regards,
Sarmad

Subject: [RZ-LGR-SG] FW: Action Requested: Doodle for RZ-LGR-SG Weekly Meetings
Dear All,
We are ready to convene the Expert Group to Study the Application of Root Zone Label Generation Rules (RZ-LGR-SG).
I have put up a Doodle poll at
https://doodle.com/poll/eahtrtntznqw3sn3[doodle.com]
to set up a time for our meetings. As suggested in the call for this study group, we will be meeting weekly, as we have an aggressive timeline to finalize the recommendations by ICANN 63, to submit to the ICANN Board.
We have set up a wiki page at
https://community.icann.org/display/croscomlgrprocedure/Application+of+RZ-LGR[community.icann.org],
which lists all the members and an initial set of items to address.
Please respond to the doodle poll this week. Please try to fill in as many options as are feasible for you – so that we can find at least one time
slot which is ok for everybody on this list.
Once we have the time and day set up, we will email further details on how to join the call online.
We look forward to assisting you through the process. Please let us know if you have any queries or feedback.
Regards,
Sarmad
