To address the request from the ICANN Board, the RZ-LGR Study Group (SG) was formed from the nominees of SOs, ACs, and IAB and additional volunteers from the ICANN community following the <https://www.icann.org/news/announcement-2018-02-08-en> call for formation<https://www.icann.org/news/announcement-2018-02-08-en> in February 2018. After its formation, the RZ-LGR SG first determined the scope of its work, and enriched it with feedback received from the community through the first <https://www.icann.org/public-comments/technical-rz-lgr-2018-08-02-en> public comment<https://www.icann.org/public-comments/technical-rz-lgr-2018-08-02-en> call in August 2018. After incorporating the community feedback, the RZ-LGR SG has finalized the Recommendations for the Technical Utilization of the Root Zone Label Generation Rules, which are documented in the report attached. As next steps, as per the request by the ICANN Board, these recommendations are to be published and then submitted to the ICANN Board for further consideration.
