Recommendations: IANA Communications
ICANN org has committed to increasing the level of security and responsiveness of the Root Zone Management Portal and root zone management process provided by IANA to TLD managers and the change notification system. During implementation of the new IANA portal, ICANN org should, at a minimum, implement: 
• (Emergency changes should be actionable as soon as reasonably possible. IANA should establish a clear process, including a reasonable time frame for emergency changes, and communicate this process to relevant stakeholders.)SSR2 notes that ICANN has been developing a new portal internally, which should increase technical security provision, including:
• Require multi-factor authentication for accessing the portal.
• Currently communications are handled via unencrypted email: the integrity and authenticity of the requested change, IANA’s response, and the confirmation are not given. IANA should technically ensure integrity and authenticity of these communications.
