There are varying points of view, with the two outer views being 1) roll it 2) do not. There is plenty of room for debate on this, however SSAC produced report 102 https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/sac-102-en.pdf where several dissents, one being Verisign, which being a root operator I weigh their input on this matter.
