Dear ASP IRT Sub-Track, 

 

Thanks again for your participation on our call last week where we discussed the ASP Funding Plan. We have updated the ASP Funding Plan deck with the couple of edits we discussed on call, and plan to post on the ASP website resources page as a next step to fulfill Recommendation 17.12:

 

ICANN org must develop a plan for funding the Applicant Support Program, as detailed in the Implementation Guidelines below.

 

Implementation Guidance 17.13: ICANN org should evaluate whether it can provide funds (as they did in 2012) or whether additional funding is needed for the Applicant Support Program in subsequent rounds… The amount of funding available to applicants should be determined and communicated before the commencement of the application round.

 

We will begin the process to publish the updated ASP Funding Plan deck and will notify the ASP IRT Sub-Track when the deck is published. 

 

We also noted the following action items: 

 

• ICANN org to work with Comms and Engagement on creating a compelling ASP pro bono services prospectus/one pager/QR code
• ICANN org to provide timeline for getting vendor onboarded for the SARP and the package of support

 

On the former, we have flagged the ask to our communications and engagement colleagues and this will be added to the agenda for the next Outreach and Engagement IRT call scheduled for 8 October 2024.  

 

On the latter, please find attached the applicant journey graphic that Kristy linked to on the call for your awareness. Please note that this applicant journey is also included in the ICANN Champion’s Toolkit ASP deck. We will work on compiling additional information on the timeline for the package of support as a part of the follow up to the GAC consultation and will bring this to the ASP IRT Sub-Track as soon as well.
