It would be great to have your participation in the GAC small team on the applicant support program (ASP). As you know from the presentations we gave at ICANN78, ensuring a successful ASP will be key to ensure geographic diversification of the new gTLD application program is achieved. We had our first meeting today to address questions the Board put to us on implementing the ASP, but it would be great to get your attendance at the next one on Monday 4 December at 14:00. Dear GAC Members and Observers;

 

As a follow-up to the recent session discussions at ICANN78 about applicant support efforts for the next round of new gTLD applications, members of the GAC Small Team on Applicant Support matters have asked the staff to share some additional information resources with you.

 

First, ICANN published earlier this year an EOI (expression of interest) survey [docs.google.com] so that future in-kind support providers to the ICANN Applicant Support Program (ASP) can indicate interest in potentially providing pro bono services to new gTLD applicants through the ASP.  Potential pro bono services might include general business services, application services or technical services. The link to the full announcement of the EOI effort can be found here).

 

The small team invites GAC colleagues to encourage any providers you believe may be interested in providing pro bono support to complete the EOI survey, as these types of services will be crucial to supporting next round applicants through the ASP.

 

Secondly, small team members have noted that ICANN’s ASP team has complied an additional list of reference resources generated around ICANN78 that can provide useful background information and potentially generate further ideas from examination of other successful global support programs. The Small Team will be discussing follow-up committee efforts on this important issue this week.
