I love the idea of running through it as an applicant would – we’ll see the full picture and potentially identify areas that need clarification or better cohesion.

Not sure about making it longer or dividing it up into sections and having a few different sessions on different topics following the Applicant’s Journet:

               Session 1:

a.       General Information:  Eligibility, fees, Application and String Types (Section 1 of Applicant Journey)

b.       Application Submissions, Pre Evaluation Processes (Section 2.1 and 2.2 of Applicant Journey)

c.       Community Input and Dispute Resolution (Section 2.3)

d.       Posted Materials (Section 4.0)

Session 2:

a.       String Evaluation (Section 2.4)

b.       Temporary Delegation (Section 2.5)

c.       Publication of String Evaluation Reports and contention sets (Section 2.6)

d.       String Confusion Objections and ID of Potential New Contention Sets (Section 2.7)

e.       Community Priority Evaluation (2.8)

Session 3:

a.       ICANN Auction (2.9)

b.       Application Evaluation (2.10)

c.       Contracting (2.11)

d.       Post Contracting (2.12)

e.       Lifecycle Timelines (5)

f.         Application Statuses (6)

This way the discussions can be focused.

That would be my recommendation anyway for what it is worth.

Thanks Elisa.  It does strike me that the prep week session on the AGB should be at least 2 hours and maybe even 2 sessions of 90 minutes each.  The number of important topics to be summarized is huge.

Dear IRT members,

We are reaching out about our planned ‘AGB roadshow’ before and during ICANN83.

As you know, we are working towards launching the Public Comment on the whole draft Applicant Guidebook on 30 May at the latest for a period of 50 days. In the run up to the Prague meeting, the New gTLD Program team will hold a prep week session on the status of the Program. The team also plans to provide a stand-alone webinar on key sections of the Applicant Guidebook, once it is out for Public Comment.

We will have a number of SMEs on the ground in Prague and plan to hold at least one IRT session on the AGB, likely with a similar content as we will provide during the aforementioned webinar, and one session that provides an update from the Outreach, Engagement, and Communications team.

We would also like to offer to present on specific topics to your respective community groups. E.g., this could be in the form of providing details on specific topics or just sitting in on your discussions and providing clarification or background information, e.g. in case your community group holds a working session on the Public Comment. We kindly ask that you confer with your community groups if you’d like someone from our team to attend any of your meetings during ICANN83 and if so let us know, off-list, by 30 April 2025.

If you have any questions, please reach out at any time.

Thank you!

Best,

Elisa

P.S.: We will send a similar message to the SO/AC leaders and include a short note in an upcoming Community Digest, too.
