Raffle prioritization methodology
Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had a nice break. I have finally had a chance to watch the zoom recording of meeting #99 where the “sorting” method for prioritization was discussed. Lars asked if anyone had an issue with multiple handlings of an application (put back in pot, pull again) vs. pull them out in one stretch and then apply the rules. I think it makes much better sense to pull them all out in one stretch and then apply the rules. Simple example: applications 1-1000 Lets say 59, 230, 345 900, are IDNS, the rest are ASCII. The application is pulled out, labeled with its identifying number, and then “revealed” In this case the IDNs are moved up to slots 1, 2, 3, 4, and everyone else moves down four slots. It is simpler and less prone to problems. ( I realize there is a first 25% and reset after every 500 but the point remains the same. One label on an app, update after the rule set is applied). Otherwise the apps are “handled” multiple times. This could lead to more opportunity for error, or unintentional manipulation (let’s say the IDNS start to feel “warm” after so many times in and out of the bucket).
