Hi Jared, Could you please remind us of where the figures ended up on the cost of Community Priority Evaluation? I think the RFP went out in August? Is this number going to be published in the AGB? Thank you, Anne Anne Aikman-Scalese GNSO Councilor NomCom Non-Voting 2022-2026 anneicanngnso@gmail.com
Dear Anne and IRT members, Thank you for this question. We are still in the midst of the RFP process—we hope to have this complete very soon. This means that we don’t have yet the final cost/fee for CPE. However, once we do have a vendor/contract in place, we will publish the relevant vendor/fee information and determine how best to make that fee information available to applicants (e.g., whether an update to the AGB or publication on the New gTLD Program webpage, or both, etc.). I hope this helps. Thanks Jared. This number affects the planning process for applicants. Will there be flexibility in being able to withdraw a CPE claim if the cost is too great? Dear Anne, We expect to know the fee before the application submission period opens. Although an applicant designating and submitting a community application will be unable to change that designation after submission, the option to participate in CPE comes later once contention has been determined (see AGB Section 5.4.1). Applicants will have the opportunity to choose to participate or not, and should they decide that they do not wish to participate in CPE after selecting to do so, then there would be a payment window (30 days) wherein the applicant could decide to not participate/not pay (and thereby forfeit participation) (see AGB Section 5.4.3). I hope this helps. Thanks Jared. ICANN should make every effort to publish this number ASAP and well before the opeing of the window. It affects the business plan for the proposed community strings. This is a Predictability issue - as previously discussed.
