Preview: Proposed Update for AGB Topic 9
Dear IRT members, In preparation for tomorrow’s discussion of the updated AGB Topic 9 PIC/RVC/Community Registration Policy in response to public comments, you may preview the proposed update in redline and clean versions linked to the agenda here: https://icann-community.atlassian.net/wiki/x/GRawBg We will walk through the comments and updates, as well as present the rationale during tomorrow’s meeting. Thank you, Ariel
Thanks Ariel. It doesn't look at though we have said enough in Topic 9 about the fact that Community commitments are RVCs requiring RCE. I note it appears that: 1. As I understand it, Community registry commitments should be submitted at the time the Community new gTLD application is submitted. (I suppose these could change if they need to be changed to meet successful RCE approval?) So in this case, it's not true that Community registry commitments "MAY" be submitted at the time of the application? 2. It appears that another circumstance in which the timing of Application processing WILL be affected by RVCs is in the case of Community applications where the Community RVCs apparently MUST past RCE before potentially proceeding to CPE if there are strings in contention with the Community application. It would seem the above considerations need to be addressed in the Topic 9 language, but let us know if the above assumptions are incorrect. Thank you for your input, Anne. We didn’t get to discuss your comments during yesterday’s IRT meeting, but I want to acknowledge those and confirm that we will discuss your comments internally and see whether/how to bolster the relevant AGB text.
