Dear All, Raymond,

The October Newsletter is quite comprehensive! What is the most important thing, its regularity.

I have some points regarding the draft and some ideas in general:

  1. Please, correct the following details in the text:

During this meeting a session was done on the topic: ccTLDs and advancement of Universal Acceptance - Session 4A. The panel was made up of Dejan Dukic (RNIDS), Maria Kolesnikova and Vadim Mikhailov (CC for TLD .RU/.РФ), Anil Kumar Jain (UASG), Katarina Gevorgyan (ISOC AM), Hanul Park (KISA) and Sarmad Hussain (ICANN Org). The Session was moderated by Sami Ali (Behrain).

Additionally: In case the idea about creating a White Paper on Universal Acceptance that was announced during the session by me is taking seriously by UASG and will be realized in future, it could be announced in the newsletter as one of the session results. You could discuss it with Sarmad and Anil for more details. A White Paper is a document that can get together _all_ requirements and best practice on New gTLDs, IDNs and EAI support  in one place (standards (RFCs), code samples, list of software that supports UA, etc. LGRs for TLD and S2L domains + other related ICANN/IANA policies, tools and practices) so that it can be comprehensive and useful for software developers (but not too long, well focused and with less of water).

  1. I would suggest to add into the newsletter information about upcoming UA events. At least the most important ones. So people can get information about them on time and join to these events. To save time, this block of information can be added into the next newsletter.

  1. There can be also added recent news from the UASG website, if any. And ICANN news on Universal Acceptance, IDNs, New gTLDs, if any.

  1. There are sometimes available news from the external resources (e.g. https://domainincite.com/29090-tube-registry-claims-victory-in-linkification-fight ). But it requires time to search for such news. This is an idea on how you can enrich the newsletter.

  1. I would also suggest to develop a separate UASG document based on the following material from the draft newsletter:

It can be a document that describes what each stakeholder can do in his role. Recently, we at CIS-EE LI have got a request from a member to prepare the same kind of a document. These information can be really helpful for those who starts communicate with local/regional stakeholders, so to have in hand the full list of concrete proposals/requests on who and what can do for UA achievement. Better with the explanations and examples, if any applicable.

Thank you!

Maria Kolesnikova
