Compliment of the day, to the Chair and Members of the Communication Working Group.

I wish to present myself to the community for the vacant position of Vice-Chair, Universal Acceptance Communications Working Group. I have been a member from the inception of the assignment to its matured state of becoming a named community under ICANN. I have also been fortunate to see the good works done by the leadership of the community to date. It’s an awesome journey that demands time, skill, and capacity.

Our communication working group demands all three qualities; time to discuss offline to reinforce online resolutions, the skill to contribute or focus on others towards building the needed materials, and the capacity to understand what is needed for publicity and execution of projects outlined.  With this quality mentioned, all it needs to be effective is teamwork.

Having mentioned the above, I submit my candidacy for Vice-Chair. I am Vice-Chair, Chapter Advisory Council (ChAC) Steering Committee, Internet Society (2021-2023). I am the CEO of DNS Africa Media and Communications. We run a media-led multipurpose vehicle that includes:

·         DNS Africa Online,

·         DNS Africa TV,

·         DNS Global Initiative,

·         DNS Africa Resource Center,

·         SENDiWSA,

and a host of others.

I have been instrumental in the past twenty (20) years in different organizations in the media industry. I am a Content and Brand Development Expert, Publicity Strategist, Web and Graphics Designer, and Social Media Expert, to mention a few. While I advocate for Local Content Development, I understand the area of communication on the internet across cultures as a possible task for the average netizen. I am a Disruptive Technologist keen on merging technicals with policies while thinking outside the box. I am a team player and love to travel. I appreciate zero budget (where necessary) and can work under pressure. I love research and enjoy collaborative partnerships. I strongly believe that criticism brings creativity to every solution.

In recent times, I have received the ICANN Fellowship and was selected for the Paul Muchene Fellow Award. I run an Online Radio and Community Network (Community NetHUBs Africa)). I affirm that I will do my best, if supported to fill this vacancy.

Thanks, and regards.
