I would like to nominate myself as one of the Vice Chairs of the UA Technology Working Group. I'm one of the Internet and Unicode Pioneers in Sri Lanka. I Co-chaired ICANN's Sinhala Generation Panel. I chair Universal Acceptance Steering Committee for the Sri Lanka Universal Acceptance Local Initiative project. I'm also a member of the Board of Directors of the LK Domain Registry since its inception and was the founding president of ISOC Sri Lanka. I led many government Software Development projects in Sri Lanka as the head of the Software Development Unit of the University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC) and COO/CTO of Theekshana, a company set up originally by UCSC. Currently, I'm involved in the development of the Electronic Government Procurement System for the Government of Sri Lanka. I'm an author and researcher who was involved in encoding Sinhala Numerals and implementation of Sinhala Unicode. Vice-Chair of UA Technology WG (two open positions)
The Vice Chairs should have a solid understanding of the technical aspects of the UA. Expertise in defining the technical scope of UA remediation and providing strategies for UA implementation is desirable. The Vice Chairs should be able to develop technical documentation and training materials to address technical gaps.

Please share self-nominations by 31 August 2023 Monday, 12:00 UTC. This can be done by emailing on the UA Technology WG mailing list with your interest in vice-chair position and sharing a short “Statement of Interest” and relevant experience in your email.

We are always looking for candidates who can volunteer their time and effort to promote UA. Please consider participating.
