Hi all,

The guide is almost 50 pages long. We don’t know how many people will attend. And there are still comments on it. I suggest we don’t print for the meeting for the sake of protecting the nature. But we may consider generating a barcode for the google doc to share on screen. Can you help on this if feasible?

One good news, we will have a panelist table at the session for the presenters. So we can call literally call it as a panel.

Regarding the slide deck, Could you please complete the pages by the end of today so that Comms Team have chance to review for the final edits.

Slide deck: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/12AsOAP8RSjcE6J_tMLbIjPv9vt4CadoS/edit#slide=id.p1

Please also share your input. And let me know if you have any access issues.

Kind regards,

Seda

Subject: [Ext] Re : [UA-EAI] Self-Certification Guide document: split, or make comments harder to track?

Dear Jim

Thank you for volunteering and taking on the action item of cleaning up the EAI Self-Certification Guide document for release in ICANN 76.

Either alternative is fine; please do what works best for you. What is crucial is that we have cleaned up version of EAI Self-Certification Guide document , which may be shared at ICANN 76. Yes, there are still few meaningful remarks in the Guide that we haven`t gone through; we`d be thankful if you could close it as you are one of the experts in this field; if you need any help, please share on the list or call for a meeting on 7th Feb so that we can all participate if necessary. Nonetheless, we must strive to have a clean version by March 9th, 2023.

Apart from that, @seda Please check if we will need some print copies for distribution there after you receive the cleaned version from JIM; if so, we have to arrange accordingly.

Thanks

Warm Regards

EAI WG Colleagues:

At today`s meeting, I took on the action item of cleaning up the EAI Self-Certification Guide document for our ICANN76 session on EAI Self-Certification. I am happy to do this.

I would like your suggestions on which of two ways I should choose to accomplish this:

  1. Split off a copy of the Google Docs document, and clear out all the comments from it. This becomes a clean copy of the Guide for ICANN76, and leaves behind a working copy with all the comments for us to continue work on.  However, we need to keep track of any changes we make to the clean copy, and apply them to the working copy also.
  2. Clean up the working copy of the Google Docs document, by making note of the current comments in a separate email, and cleaning them out of the doc. That means we have only one Google Docs document, and it is clean. Any edits to the clean document are easy to keep track of. However, it will be harder to track all the comments currently in the document, because they are in a separate email (probably an email thread).

Part of what makes this decision harder is that there are still a lot of substantive comments in the Guide which we have not worked through. For instance, the "EAI Communication and Messaging" section is not really complete.

Which choice do you suggest? I will be glad to hear your suggestions for a few days, then I will make a decision. Note that there are many formatting improvements which I can make without waiting.

Best regards,
    —Jim DeLaHunt
