Self-Certification Guide document: split, or make comments harder to track?
EAI WG Colleagues: At today's meeting, I took on the action item of cleaning up the EAI Self-Certification Guide document for our ICANN76 session on EAI Self-Certification. I am happy to do this. I would like your suggestions on which of two ways I should choose to accomplish this: 1. Split off a copy of the Google Docs document, and clear out all the comments from it. This becomes a clean copy of the Guide for ICANN76, and leaves behind a working copy with all the comments for us to continue work on. However, we need to keep track of any changes we make to the clean copy, and apply them to the working copy also. 2. Clean up the working copy of the Google Docs document, by making note of the current comments in a separate email, and cleaning them out of the doc. That means we have only one Google Docs document, and it is clean. Any edits to the clean document are easy to keep track of. However, it will be harder to track all the comments currently in the document, because they are in a separate email (probably an email thread). Part of what makes this decision harder is that there are still a lot of substantive comments in the Guide which we have not worked through. For instance, the "EAI Communication and Messaging" section is not really complete. Which choice do you suggest? I will be glad to hear your suggestions for a few days, then I will make a decision. Note that there are many formatting improvements which I can make without waiting.
