Yes, short calls = no objections.

Michael, I actually came to the other opinion, that we should schedule regular meetings - but short, since they really help keeping things moving. Out group is small, so findinga regular time should be possible.

Alan,
thank you very much!
I think that the agenda of the call today should be fairly simple.
1) Brief (self-)introduction (MichaelY).
2) Alan's proposals (AlanG).
3) Action items // next steps (general discussion).
Moreover, if today we agree on Alan's proposals, I think it will be possible for us to minimize the necessity of frequent conf calls, and to do most of our work on-line.
See you soon,
Michael

As a prelude to the meeting, let me try to create a list of what we
need to do, and some of the constraints.

Constraints, working backwards:
- we are planning to start drafting on Sat Aug 24, with the previous
week taken up with travel to Australia and our 3-day meeting.
- July 12-18 is the Durban meeting, preceded and followed by a few
days travel and recovery. This is the meeting where we plan to
solicit input from AC/SO, Board etc. and general attendees
- that leaves less than 4 weeks to make some sense of what we heard
and get follow-on answers if needed.
- we have about 5 weeks before I leave for Durban, and assume your
schedules are not too different.

For some of us, there are summer vacations/holidays which might take
some time from this schedule. T o the extent that we know those now,
it would be good that we all understand if/when individuals have
blackout periods.

Work to do:
- Carefully (re-)read RT report
- Review Excel spreadsheet on Whois-RT implementation Develop any
follow-on questions
- Make some sense of the discrepancy between how the RT says their
Recs were received and the position of ICANN staff and Board.
- I think we need some contact with the Expert Panel. Their target as
announced before they started was to wrap up already. The messages I
am getting now say it will take a LOT longer. Unclear exactly what
that means. First  step perhaps to ask staff for the current time line.
- schedule a follow-up meeting with RT, not just to talk about
process, but substance. In the last LA meeting, we generally came to
the belief that a few of the Recs were essentially un-implementable
as worded. If nothing else, we need to get to the bottom of this.

Overall, I don't think our task is is all that difficult, compared to
some of our other ATRT responsibilities, so I would like to get as
much of it underway and completed as soon as possible, to allow us to
also focus on the other aspects of the RT  targets.
