Hallo All, Following our face to face meeting discussions on Friday 3rd May 2013 I volunteered to Chair Work Stream 4. This work stream is to Consider the extent to which assessments and actions undertaken by ICANN have been successful in ensuring that ICANN is acting transparently, is accountable for its decision-making, and acts in the public interest. Fiona, Lise and Carlos were to re-word the language of work stream 4. After today's call we would like to stay on phone to discuss it further and those who would like to join us should feel free. If you are joining us we shall be discussing the attached diagram. In the meantime, please feel free to send through to the list the specific aspects to consider regarding workstream 4. The issues we had identified in LA were: -Looking at the recommendations of the three other groups – ICANN’s interpretation of review team recommendations – ICANN’s implementation of the recommendations. Asking the question: “Does it satisfy the standard outlined in the affirmation?” -Review the Board process used to review, implement and oversee recommendations of review teams. The cross cutting issues were: -[cross cutting] Metrics, success criteria. How processes can be verified in an accountable and transparent way. -[cross cutting] Review methods for continual assessment -[cross cutting] Accountability + Transparency = Legitimacy towards Governments and the larger Internet. How is ICANN outreach doing? Where its going? -[cross cutting] Efficiency, effectiveness and legitimacy -[cross cutting] Transparency as a default condition -[cross cutting] How ICANN can be effective and efficient while improving full multi-stakeholder participation, accountability and transparency. Alice could you please irculate the updated document.
