Dear all,

Thank you for your participation to the meeting on 21 February 2023. You can find the wiki page on this link where meeting recording and other details are available. Before jumping into our action items. I would like to take the opportunity to share group’s cumulative attendance data with you, our average attendance rate is 69% and you can find further attendance details attached.

We have two major action items for WS2 Recommendation 1.6.

  1. Diversity Survey

Please review the action items from the last email for the first survey and weigh in if you haven't already done so.

On the call, on 21 February 2023, Julie mentioned that some groups may not wish to ask about education/training as that wasn't the original intent of the "skills" category in WS2; some groups may instead wish to ask about specific skills/skillsets. If your group is interested in doing so, please consider the types of skills you'd like to ask about and make comments on the survey document.

Julie also noted that Q24 wasn't reflective of the original WS2 discussion, so you may wish to weigh in on whether or not this question is relevant for your group; keep in mind that not all groups need to ask all questions, so we will leave it in if some groups are interested.

  1. Diversity Perceptions Survey

For the second survey (on perceptions), we aren't diving into wordsmithing at this stage but rather gathering your feedback on whether these categories would be useful to you. Unlike the first survey, which will be asked across the community (with tweaking options depending on which groups participants select at the start), the second survey is entirely optional; some groups may already know what strategies or initiatives they wish to focus on to improve diversity and inclusivity in their groups, and some may wish to draw on some of these survey questions to gather more data for an informed approach. If your group is interested, please weigh in on the types of categories in this document - are these useful? are they sufficient? are there gaps?

Please note that these surveys, when finalized, will be a part of diversity toolkit, Recommendation 1.6. Once finalized by WS2 CCG and went through several processes within ICANN Org, the toolkit will be sent to SO/AC/Groups and according to WS2 Report, these tools are to be used by these groups to implement WS2 Recommendations 1.3, 1.4, and 1.5.

Best regards,

Alp Eken (on behalf of the ICANN org team supporting the CCG)
