Dear WS2 CCG Participants, I trust this email finds you well. As we reflect on the progress made by the WS2 CCG thus far, I am pleased to share with you a summary of our endeavors since our inaugural meeting on April 5, 2022. To date, our group has convened a total of 17 times, during which we have delved into various WS2 recommendations. Here's a brief overview of our key achievements: * Recommendation 1.1: We collaborated extensively, both during meetings and offline, to craft a document that has been unanimously endorsed by the group. An outcomes report has been compiled, detailing the agreed-upon measures, which will be disseminated to each SO/AC/Group to guide their implementation efforts. * Recommendation 1.6: This recommendation is to create a diversity toolkit and it is owned by the Org. In order to have a toolkit that would serve the community’s needs in a better way, feedback from the WS2 CCG was taken regarding the needs of the community. Feedback on the toolkit included what should be the basic sections and two surveys as part of this toolkit which will be used by all groups to assess the diversity of community groups. * Recommendation 1.7: The group worked on this recommendation during meetings and offline to create a process for handling diversity complaints and issues. Ombuds Office and Complaints Office were invited to our meetings to inform the group regarding their handling of complaints and issues. The group agreed on a high level process and this should be handled as part of the Continuous Improvement efforts in a more detailed way, since there are no current systemic problems regarding diversity. * Recommendation 2.3: This recommendation was intentionally handled as the last one in the group for two reasons: (1) Since this one is relevant to only Empowered Community (EC) participating groups, feedback from all members is not expected. (2) It was expected that all EC-participating groups would complete their implementation of Rec 2.1 and 2.2. However, all relevant groups had not completed their implementation prior to handling of Rec 2.3. That’s why, based on the feedback received from EC-participating group members, it was decided that this recommendation will be handled after the individual implementation of Rec 2.1 and 2.2 is completed by all relevant groups. Manju reported their implementation status to GNSO Council here and let the group know that group can continue implementing 2.3 after the full implementation of 2.1 and 2.2. Similarly, David indicated that it makes sense to continue implementing 2.3 after their implementation of other recommendations are complete. ALAC already completed the implementation of rec 2.1 and 2.2. Lastly, we did not get a comment from ASO nor the GAC. * Recommendation 3.1: Our focus on this recommendation centers on documenting the implementation efforts of individual SO/ACs. All pertinent information shared by members has been collated on the community wiki<https://community.icann.org/display/ICWOHR/The+ICANN+Community%27s+Work+on+H...> for transparency and accessibility. In the coming days, we will be dispatching an invitation to WS2 CCG to review what the group did to date, we are planning to have this meeting scheduled in late March. And following that, we will send separate emails containing our finalized efforts and documents to all participants and respective SO/AC/Groups for their acknowledgment.
