Letter from the Board on Human Rights
Dear all, I am forwarding you a letter that I and the CCWG co-chairs received from the board, please find it attached. It seems like this letter was composed before the Considerations document was finalized, therefore I think it would be apt that we continue with our readings and ask the board to provide us with their analysis during the Public Comments period. Hi, On this, is the Organization providing a liaison to the group in order to coordinate their implementation impact assessment with the completion of the work of this subgroup. Alternatively, and perhaps additionally, is the subgroup invited to liaise with the staff group doing the implementation impact assessment? thanks avri On 11-Apr-17 12:07, Niels ten Oever wrote:

So is the Board saying, "Tell us the impact of complying with the Framework of Interpretation" before we implement it? In other words, are they saying that when the recommendation to implement the FOI comes to the Board, they want to know the impact on ICANN operations (and costs) before they adopt the FOI? ( I am not sure I understand what they are saying if this is not it.) Anne E. Hi, I do not know for sure, the version of "ICANN organisation" that is used in the letter but I will assume it's ICANN staff. So I think Board is asking staff to conduct an impact assessment of the FoI implementation. It seem that it's not for this group to do that assessment but this group needs to provide implementation scenarios which I guess can then be accessed. While I certainly prefer that interpretation, I doubt it is what the Board meant. Why would they make that request in a letter to the CCWG chairs and the subgroup chair. I think they must be, as Anne suggests, asking US to perform and/or assist in the performance of an impact assessment. I guess we just need to ask clarity on what "ICANN organisation" imply. As to why they wrote to us, I believe it's to let us know their thoughts and also to let us know what is expected of us. Regards On Apr 13, 2017 13:53, "Paul Rosenzweig" < paul.rosenzweig@redbranchconsulting.com> wrote:
