1st Preparatory Meeting & Stocktaking Session - 30 May 2025
The first preparatory meeting for the WSIS+20 General Assembly overall review will take place on 30 May 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at United Nations Headquarters in New York. This meeting will provide an opportunity to hear views from Member States and observers on expectations for the WSIS+20 outcome and process. The session will also serve as a basis for the preparation of an elements paper to inform subsequent steps in the intergovernmental process. Please see details here.

The Co-Facilitators agreed to hold two sessions for different timezones on those days. Statements will be limited to 3 minutes and guided by the questions provided on the page above. The session on 10 June (Second Session) will open with statements from UN agencies (5 min each).
Secretariat will publish a speaking list based on registration. We hope to accommodate as many speakers as possible. The Co-facs can also hold more sessions as needed in the near future. In addition, they will be in various sessions in the upcoming fora below:
- UNESCO [unesco.org], 4-5 June 2025
- IGF [intgovforum.org], 23-27 June 2025
- WSIS Forum [itu.int], 7-11 July 2025
