CCWG - Recommendation 5 - Mission - Conclusions
Sent on behalf of CoChairs Regarding Recommendation 5 - Mission, please find the main conclusions of our deliberations during call #80. The updated document is attached and will be discussed during call #82, 2 February 2016. Kind regards, Brenda
Hi, I don't know how I missed this before, but in section 2 number 2 of the commitments it now says. "Preserve and enhance the neutral and judgment free administration of the technical DNS…." I don't really know what "technical" adds there. I don't especially care about it, but I'm trying rather hard to come up with something that would be the non-technical DNS and I'm failing. Since words that don't do work in a bylaw are just an invitation to mischief, I'd suggest that "the DNS" is enough here. Best regards, A On Tue, Feb 02, 2016 at 05:21:40AM +0000, Brenda Brewer wrote:

The words were used multiple times by Larry Strickling and the NTIA were that we must ensure "The neutral and judgment free administration of the technical DNS and IANA functions" I can't say I know the the word means either, but that is the phrase used... Apologies for weighing in on a small detail, but the reference to “DNS” was really meant to refer to the IANA functions, not just DNS. This section was poorly crafted. Steve On Feb 2, 2016, at 2:49 PM, Alan Greenberg <alan.greenberg@mcgill.ca> wrote:
