All, Please find attached the draft letter of thanks to Grace Abuhamad that was requested at the last meeting of the CCWG-Accountability. Please advise if you have any comments with respect to this document within the next 24 hours (closing 1800UTC Thursday August 19). If there are no comments by the closing time the letter will be forwarded to Grace on behalf of the Co-Chairs and all of the CCWG-Accountability. Looks fine to me Bernie, but as I suspect these sentiments are well supported by the rank and file of the CCWG, I wonder of the signature line after the Co-Chair names might be "on behalf of the CCWG on ICANN Corporate Accountability" or some such... Hi all, this is great and I would be very surprised if Grace did not follow the publicly archived mailing list and be pleased with the level of support the letter gets. I do like the idea of putting the names of those that wish to be included on the letter. However, I am not sure this is fair. Let me explain why: A lot of folks are on vacation and might not be able to indicate their wish to us in time for the submission. Leaving those out would not accurately reflect their views. To be perfectly honest, I do not think a single individual would not want to be included, but I would not want to make people signatories to a letter that they have not explicitly approved. Let me therefore suggest that we clarify that the letter is sent on behalf of the whole group and that multiple persons have asked us to clarify that this is not a letter by the co-chairs, but by the whole group. I guess you meant Friday August 19. I like to commend the reasoning behind this as Grace was of great support to the transition process. A minor suggestion (I think) to include "for" before you in the last paragraph so it reads: "...will remember us as fondly as we will for you" That said, I do hope there is an intention for the Co-Chairs to formerly sign the letter. I also don't know if this group is authorized to use the ICANN logo? If yes then will be good to include as well.
